The Melville Millionaires announced their most recent signing Wednesday afternoon to the general public. Standing 6 feet 6 inches tall, 2003 born goaltender, Marek Andres, officially put pen to paper earlier this week. The Redcliff, Alberta resident comes to the Millionaires organization from the SAHA U18 Prep Team (CSSHL U18); he appeared in 3 games for the academy before hockey came to a halt due to the COVID19 pandemic.
The Millionaires staff are excited to have Marek onboard and are looking forward to working with the rookie goalie. Here’s what Assistant Coach Daven Smith had to say about the newest recruitment: “Anytime you can get a goaltender with that size and structure, that moves and goes about their business like Marek does.. that’s exactly what you want. Potential wise, his ceiling is high, along with my expectations for him. He checks off all of the boxes for what our staff looks for when bringing in goalies so we’re looking forward to having him join our team.”
Andres will be on display for the first time, at the Horizon Credit Union Centre, during the Millionaires Rookie Camp beginning Friday, August 27th. Shortly after Marek will be attending Calgary Hitman (WHL) Camp as they hold his Major Junior rights. The City of Melville and the Mills Mafia welcome Marek to the club.
