Jaydon Dureau scored his first career professional goal with the Syracuse Crunch (American Hockey League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Lightning) in their opening matchup, against the Rochester Americans, Friday night. Dureau was a member of the 2020/2021 Melville Millionaires during the Western Hockey League Covid pause. Jaydon tallied 7 goals and 4 assists through 6 games in the famous Mills uniform.
“Jaydon was a good mentor for our guys, and a great individual; to have him in our room with our group was an experience that will never happen again given those circumstances. It paid dividends for our younger guys to be around him in every aspect, from the way he prepared, to the way he carried himself on and off the ice. For our young developing players, it was huge.” stated Head Coach/GM Mike Rooney.
Dureau was a 2020 Tampa Bay Lightning draft pick; he was selected in the 5th Round, 147th Overall. The Crunch are back in action October 29th against the Cleveland Monsters.
