Millionaires clean up on SJHL weekly awards – January 10

The of Millionaires are receiving strong performances throughout their lineup.  Not only did Nicolas Samson, Noah Wills, Alexis Giroux and Charles-Thomas Larochelle receive the weekly awards, but Kyle Bochek (Rookie of The Week) and Louis-Frederick Theberge (Defencemen of The Week) were acknowledged as Runner-Ups.

SGEU MVP OF THE WEEK: Nicolas Samson, Melville Millionaires

Samson led all SJHL players with 10 points in just four games this past week for the Millionaires.
The line of Samson and fellow rookies Noah Wills and Charles Thomas Larochelle took the league by storm, combining for 23 points over those four games. Melville jumped back into a playoff spot with three wins over a six-day span, two of which came over the first place Humboldt Broncos.

 RBC FORWARD OF THE WEEK: Noah Wills, Melville Millionaires

Noah Wills continues to assert himself as one of the bright young players in the SJHL. This past week was another prime example. Wills picked up three points in the Mills first victory over the Broncos, then followed that up with an assist in both their games against the North Stars and Klippers, before finishing the week with two assists in the 5-3 win over Humboldt on Sunday. Wills ended the week on a four-game point streak.

 SASKTEL SJHL GOALTENDER OF THE WEEK: Alexis Giroux, Melville Millionaires

The Melville Millionaires were the busiest team in the league last week. The Mills played four games in six days, including three straight over the weekend. They picked up three out of four wins, with Giroux securing all three. He also came into relief in their lone loss stopping all 24 shots faced.  Giroux stopped 104 of 113 shots over those four appearances.

DIRECTWEST SJHL ROOKIE OF THE WEEK: Charles-Thomas Larochelle, Melville Millionaires

Larochelle completes the Melville trifecta of awards for their top line. Larochelle contributed six points through four games and led the league with four goals this past week, scoring in every game. The 2003-born rookie is now on a four-game point streak and has 22 points in 32 games this season.
