SJHL Draft extra Special for the Millionaires

The 2022 SJHL Draft took place on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the draft was carried out slightly different than past years. The structure of this draft consisted of 6 rounds of 2006 born players, as well as Round 1 and Round 2 of 2007 born players.

General Manager Mike Rooney positioned the Melville Millionaires to pick 3rd, 4th and 5th overall in the 1st Round of the 2007 born selections. Three consecutive picks within the first 5 picks of the 2007 born draft class !

This is an extremely rare accomplishment for a General Manager and an Organization.

Congratulations to all the 2006 and 2007 born players selected by the Melville Millionaires organization. Congratulations to General Manager Mike Rooney and the entire hockey department staff for the success of their 2022 draft.
