Mils hire new Assistant Coach

The Melville Millionaires would like to announce GEORDIE WUDRICK as the Millionaires’ Assistant Coach for the upcoming season.

Geordie grew up in British Columbia, playing his minor hockey years around Vancouver before moving out to Saskatchewan to play one year at Notre Dame for the U18AAA Hounds. He then played five seasons in the WHL for the Swift Current Broncos, finishing off his junior career with the Kelowna Rockets. In 2007, he had the opportunity to play for Team Canada at the U18 Ivan Hlinka tournament and was drafted to the NHL by the Los Angeles Kings in 2008.

After junior hockey, Geordie played in CIS/USports between the University of New Brunswick and University of British Columbia, prior to starting his minor league career in the ECHL, SPHL and various minor professional leagues across Europe as well as spending four summer seasons down in Australia.

“I am an extremely passionate person who loves the game of hockey and loves to see teams and players find success in their journey to becoming student athletes and future champions in the hockey world at any level. Since the pandemic, I have been working in various coaching and training roles with athletes and teams from the youth to junior and pro levels” says Wudrick.

“I want to thank Head Coach and General Manager, Doug Johnson, as well as the staff, and volunteers of the Millionaires, for giving me this opportunity to help coach this historical team within the SJHL. I am passionate about player and team development and look forward to working together to build a positive team culture with a championship mindset that builds high character hockey players on the ice and impactful, positive role models off the ice. I am looking forward to moving to Melville and meeting all of the great people and passionate fans of the Millionaires.”

Welcome to Melville Geordie!
