Former Millionaires Star in WHL Opening Night

The 2021 Western Hockey League season opened on Friday night and a couple of former Melville Millionaires shined.
2003-born F Chase Bertholet was named the game’s 2nd star after his goal and an assist in helping the Winnipeg ICE to a 10-2 opening night win over the Brandon Wheat Kings.
The Pas, MB product was a 6th round pick by the Mils in the 2018 SJHL draft, and he contributed 3 assists in 6 games with Melville during the 2020/21 season.
Meanwhile, goaltender Bryan Thomson made 41 saves on 43 shots in helping the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 9-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Friday night.

Thomson, a Moose Jaw product had a 3-0 record with Mils during the 2020/21 campaign with a 2.32GAA and 0.925 save percentage.
